Robert Lee Gear
Jr., D.C., N.M.D. Dr. Robert Gear
Jr. is the Medical Director of Comprehensive Health Services.
He maintains a clinical research and integrative
medicine practice, in Phoenix Arizona. He is Board
Certified in Minor Surgery and Family Medicine by the
Naturopathic Physicians Medical Board . He is past president
of the Arizona Naturopathic Medical Association, and serves as
a Clinical Professor for the Southwest College of Naturopathic
Medicine and Health Sciences, in Phoenix Arizona
Dr. Gear
completed his premedical studies at Phoenix
College.
He received a degree in chiropractic medicine from the
National College of Chiropractic, in Chicago Illinois. Dr. Gear received
his Naturopathic M.D. degree from the National College of
Naturopathic Medicine, in Portland Oregon, in
1979.
Dr. Gear's
research experience includes laser accupuncture treatment, and
the treatment of colon and rectal disorders with colon hydrotherapy. His subspecialty
interest are manipulative surgery, and the treatment of hemorrhoids using painless
non-surgical techniques.

Rick A. Shacket,
D.O., M.D. (H.)
Dr. Rick Shacket maintains a Family Practice, Colonoscopy
and Anorectal Surgery (Colorectal) specialty practice in
Phoenix, Arizona. He is a board certified specialist,
certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Proctology; the
American Board of Laser Surgery; and the American Osteopathic
Board of Family Physicians. Dr. Shacket is from Bloomfield
Hills, Michigan.
Dr. Shacket received a Bachelors Degree from Hillsdale
College, in Hillsdale, Michigan. He received his Medical
Degree from the Western University of Health Sciences College
of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, in Pomona, California.
He received postdoctoral training in homeopathic medicine from
the American Medical College of Homeopathy, in Phoenix,
Arizona. He is dually licensed by the State of Arizona as a
Doctor of Medicine (Homeopathic), and as an Osteopathic
Physician and Surgeon. Dr. Shacket is a national lecturer on
the subject of proctology and family medicine. He is the

Robert Lee Gear
III, D.O. Dr. Robert
Gear III maintains a Family Practice and Osteopathic
Manipulative Medicine practice, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was certified by
the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians in 2001.
An avid pilot, Dr. Gear is also a specialist in Aerospace
Medicine and serves as a flight surgeon for the Army National
Guard.
Dr. Gear
received a Bachelors Degree from Arizona State University, in Tempe, Arizona. He received his
Medical Degree from the New York College of Osteopathic
Medicine of New York Institute of Technology, in Old Westbury,
New
York. He completed a three
year residency and internship in Family Practice at
Long Beach

New
York.
Dr.
Gear occasionally works as an emergency room specialist at La
Paz Regional Hospital in Parker, Arizona. He has recently been
deployed to Iraq, where he also provides emergency medicine as
a Major in the Army National
Guard.

Brent J. Gear, D.O. Dr. Brent Gear
maintains a practice in Emergency Medicine and Accident Injury
Medicine, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was certified by
the American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine, in 2000.
He is a fellow of the American College of Emergency
Physicians. Dr. Gear is an adjunct clinical professor at the
University of Arizona College of Medicine, in Phoenix; and at the Midwestern University
Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Glendale.
Dr. Gear
received a Bachelors Degree from Arizona State University, in Tempe, Arizona. He received his
Medical Degree from the Des Moines University College of
Osteopathic Medicine, in Des Moines, Iowa. He served a
traditional rotating internship at Tempe St. Luke’s Hospital,
in Tempe Arizona; and completed a residency in
Emergency Medicine at Cook County Hospital, in Chicago, Illinois.
A veteran of
the United States Army, the Iowa Army National Guard, and the
Arizona Army National Guard, Dr. Gear was activated for the
Iraq war in
2003. He has a subspecialty interest in Osteopathic Manipulative
Therapy (OMT) which he frequently uses when
treating patients in the emergency room. He currently
practices Emergency Medicine at Paradise Valley Hospital, and maintains a private
practice in Accident Injury Medicine at Comprehensive Health
Services, in Phoenix, Arizona.

Lauren Pihlgren, N.M.D. Preceptee
Dr.
Lauren Pihlgren N.M.D., BCIAC is a naturopathic physician
preceptee who specializes in peak performance utilizing
biological and body-based medicine such as high-nutrient IV
therapy combined with nutritional counseling and
supplementation as needed in addition to physical manipulation
including the manipulative surgery treatment, acupuncture,
homeopathy and EEG-based Biofeedback (also called
Neurofeedback).
Growing
up the only girl in the neighborhood, Dr. Pihlgren has
participated in almost every sport imaginable and because of
her athletic background has set her sights on sports injury
medicine and pain elimination in addition to improving peak
performance. To
this end, Dr. Pihlgren possesses certification in EEG-based
Biofeedback (Neurofeedback) from the Biofeedback Certification
Institute of America (BCIA) and also maintains a membership in
the International Society for Neurofeedback and Research
(ISNR).
Dr.
Pihlgren received her Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from
Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and Health Sciences
in October 2007 and is waiting to take her licensing board
exams in August 2008, until then she is working under a
Preceptorship license under Dr. Gear’s tutelage. Dr. Pihlgren is
also working at Southwest College as a teaching
assistant in the Physical Manipulation lab class taught by Dr.
Nick Buratovich.

Orville Weyrich,
N.M.D.
Dr. Weyrich
treats disorders associated with the digestive tract - from GERD down
to hemorrhoids - using naturopathic and functional medical
approaches.
There is a growing body
of evidence that disorders as varied as autism, attention
deficit/hyperactivity, epilepsy, fibromyalgia,
chronic
fatigue, irritable bowel, inflammatory bowel, and
other chronic and degenerative diseases share
common features of gut dysbiosis, leaky gut,
food sensitivities, nutritional deficiencies, and
environmental toxicity. As such, these disorders all
respond to variations on the same functional medicine
diagnostic work-up and naturopathic treatment
protocols.
Dr. Weyrich earned a PhD in Organic
Chemistry from the University
of Tennessee and graduated from Southwest
College of Naturopathic Medicine. He is licensed to
practice as a Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD) in
Arizona.
